Modeling of Growth using an Immersed Finite Element Method

چکیده
Abstract To prevent remeshing, we explore the use of a non‐boundary‐fitted finite element method for computational modeling growth including contact mechanics. Accordingly, utilize mesh‐related mapping procedure implicit geometry description by level set function within framework immersed methods. Hence, our provides setting to include patient‐specific geometries based on imaging data as description. In this contribution, show that proposed approach is viable alternative problems with obstacles, in particular when large simulations complex are primary interest.

Optimal convergence analysis of an immersed interface finite element method
We analyze an immersed interface finite element method based on linear polynomials on noninterface triangular elements and piecewise linear polynomials on interface triangular elements. The flux jump condition is weakly enforced on the smooth interface. Optimal error estimates are derived in the broken H1-norm and L2-norm.
